A visiting student may not displace a University of Florida student from any elective. For this reason, no visiting student will be accepted for an elective at the University of Florida until Florida students have confirmed their senior schedules. This process should be completed by mid-May.
The University of Florida College of Medicine does not offer housing for visiting students. However, a list of area housing opportunities will be distributed.
To participate as a visiting student, you must be a fourth year student in good standing. In addition, you must have the permission of your academic dean to take an extramural course outside the institution in which you are enrolled. You must be covered by malpractice insurance, have personal health insurance, be current with your required immunizations, have completed local/state, and national criminal background checks, and passed an official random urine drug test.
At least 2 weeks prior to beginning a rotation at the University of Florida College of Medicine, visiting students must complete and submit the following documentation via VSAS/VSLO.
