Please note: The IMSE program has not begun accepting applications for the 2024 – 25 elective period of May 2024 – May 2025. Applications will be accepted beginning April 1st, 2024 . Rotation requests submitted ahead of that time will not be considered. Please be sure to monitor the IMSE program website for any announcements and notifications.
1: Gather your elective choices
- Review the UF College of Medicine 4th year course catalogue and Elective Rotation Dates.
- Students should note not all rotations take place on the main UF Health Gainesville Academic Health Center and may require travel throughout the city. Students should refer to the meeting time and place section of each course description in the course catalog regarding the location of the rotation.
- If you are interested in participating in available elective rotation, and meet the mandatory requirements, please email a list of your top 4 elective choices, in descending order of preference, with the requested periods.
- Students should include their medical school transcript(s), resume or CV, STEP 1 report and statement of interest as attachments.
- All requests and supplemental materials should be sent to UFCOM-International@ad.ufl.edu.
- Once elective and date are approved, coordinator will send Acceptance Letter.
- Following receipt of Acceptance Letter, student will move to #2 .
2. Complete all sections of the application packet
- All approved students must complete the Accepted Students Application Packet.
- College of Medicine Coordinator will review and process Visiting International Medical Student Application packet. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
- Important: All documents and fees must be submitted seven days ahead of the rotation start date. In the event there are incomplete items, students will not be permitted to start the rotation and the rotation will be terminated.
