Health Insurance Verification

All students are required to have health insurance. Whether you have coverage through your parents or an independent plan, it is essential that you have a comprehensive medical insurance plan, that is, one that covers major medical and surgical expenses, outpatient prescriptions, and expenses associated with occupational injuries (ie. HIV and hepatitis B and C exposures). In addition, the plan should provide for maternity benefits.

If you are currently insured, please visit the UF Health Compliance Office to submit a waiver. You will receive a charge for UF Health Insurance unless you complete an online waiver, proving that you have current health insurance coverage.

Students may qualify for one of the subsidized insurance plans offered under the Affordable Care Act. You can review these plans by accessing the federal government web site.

If you wish for the Health Insurance Plan cost to be included in your Cost of Attendance, please complete the Budget Increase Form. The 2022-2023 Budget Increase Form (for Fall 2022, Spring 2023, and Summer 2023) will be available in late July. The form is also available on the SFA Forms page. This is a DocuSign form which will require the student to use their UF Email address and log in information.
